Context & Genesis

Our Background

Nigeria's industrial and infrastructure sectors face an acute deficit of certified, competent, and technologically adaptable artisans. In response, the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE), Cross River State Branch, partnered with the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) to inaugurate this digital platform and structured technical training programme in 2025.

Operating out of university-grade engineering labs and central mechanical workshops, the programme merges rigorous workshop bench drills with entrepreneurship incubation, occupational safety (HSE), and direct trade certification pathways.

Core Programme Objectives

Technical Skills Development: 80% practical workshop instruction across 9 core engineering disciplines.

Youth Empowerment: Equipping school leavers and underemployed youths with sustainable economic competencies.

Professional Certification: Direct pathways for UNICROSS certificates and Federal Trade Test licenses.

Regional Industrial Expansion: Establishing vocational access across South, Central, and North Senatorial Districts.
